Vegan Statement & Ideas

Our organic tea garden in Mingjian, Nantou

Tea is a plant, of course — but there are a few things our vegan and vegetarian friends often ask us. We have gathered the answers here, along with a few ways we love to enjoy our tea at home.

Our vegan statement

Our organic teas are vegan (plant-based) and suitable for every kind of vegetarian diet.

  • No honey in our “honey” teas: the honey-like aroma of our Honey Fragrance Oolong and honey-scented black teas develops naturally as the leaves are processed. No honey is ever added.
  • Just tea: nothing but tea leaves — no additives, flavourings or colourings.
  • Which products: our whole organic tea range. If you would like to check any other item, just ask us.

Ruby Black Tea with soy milk

This is the cup we drink most at home. Organic Ruby Black Tea has a natural hint of cinnamon and mint that goes beautifully with the gentle bean flavour of soy milk — richer and more layered than with dairy.

  • Hot: 5 g Ruby Black Tea and 150 ml water at 95°C, steep for 4 minutes; strain, then add 150 ml warm unsweetened soy milk.
  • Iced: 10 g Ruby Black Tea in 500 ml cold water, cold-brew in the fridge overnight; the next day, pour half a glass of tea and half a glass of cold soy milk.
  • For a little sweetness, add a touch of brown sugar or maple syrup.

Pairing tea with plant-based food

  • Light salads and cold dishes: Organic Pearl Green Tea, Organic Green Jade Oolong Tea
  • Pan-fried or braised dishes: Organic Honey Fragrance Oolong Tea, Organic Fragrant Red Oolong Tea — refreshing, with a sweet finish
  • After-dinner desserts: Organic Ruby White Tea, Organic Phoenix Dancong Tea

Frequently asked questions

  • Is there honey in the Honey Fragrance Oolong?
No. The honey aroma comes naturally from the tea leaves during processing — no honey or flavouring is added.
  • Can I give it to a vegan or vegetarian friend?
Of course. Our organic teas make a lovely gift for anyone on a plant-based diet.

Every cup is a small gift from our tea garden to you. If you have any dietary questions, just write to us — we would love to help you choose.
