About us
A family-run organic tea farm in Mingjian, Nantou, Taiwan
We grow it, make it and brew it — all ourselves.
It started with my father
My father was born in 1932 and grew up helping in the fields. As a young man he tended tea gardens for others, and later built a tea farm of his own, growing and making his own tea.
When Taiwan joined the WTO and tea prices were hit hard, he didn’t give up. He became one of the first tea farmers in Taiwan to earn organic certification, and planted several distinctive tea cultivars. That persistence is the most precious thing he left us.
Coming home
Tea master Chen Yi-Guo grew up on the farm. He studied physics, worked at Asahi Glass, earned a master’s degree in precision ceramics at the University of Sheffield in the UK, and spent many years at international technology companies including 3M and Sibelco.
While studying in England, he wandered into Harrods in London and heard a staff member introducing white tea. It was his first encounter with white tea — and the moment he realised that on the other side of the world, people take a cup of tea this seriously.
In 2019 he came home to Mingjian, took over his father’s farm, and brought an engineer’s rigour and scientific thinking into tea making.
Our vision
Our favourite moment is a message from a guest far away, telling us that the moment the tea was brewed, the whole room filled with its fragrance.
We hope the fragrance of Taiwan’s island tea can drift to every corner of the world — and that one day, you’ll visit the farm and smell it at its source.

Island tea, island character
Taiwan is a subtropical island. Morning mist, afternoon breezes and moist soil give our tea the warmth of the island and the calm of the mountains. Full oxidation brings out floral, fruity and honey notes, and careful roasting adds depth.
Our farm family
- MomOur biggest supporter. Whether it’s work on the farm or welcoming visitors, she’s always the first to roll up her sleeves. The cup of hot tea you’re handed at the farm may well be hers.
