Lapsang Souchong, grown and made in Taiwan
Zhengshan Xiaozhong — known in the West as Lapsang Souchong — is the Chinese black tea Europe knows best. It is often linked to the start of tea drinking at the English court, after Catherine of Braganza married King Charles II in 1662 and brought her love of tea with her. Our version of this classic is grown organically and made by hand in Taiwan.
It takes real skill to make. A slow, careful withering brings out notes of rose and apple, and the final roasting adds an elegant pine-wood smokiness — gentle, never harsh.

- On its own: the fruit and pine notes come through clearly, with a sweet finish.
